East Vancouver Heritage Homes

(June 30, 2012 )

Despite all the news about the Vancouver Housing Market slowing down, there are still properties that are getting multiple offers; and heritage homes in East Vancouver are getting a lot of attention.

Older homes that have been nicely renovated are being targeted by many buyers.  With standard size lots still maintaining stable price levels - builders, first time home buyers, and young families are still fighting for East Vancouver houses under $1 million.  Heritage homes are back in demand, and with a little renovation, can become a warm and inviting property.

As an example, in the last couple of years, a lot of new houses have been built in the design of early 1900's heritage style homes:  Large french doors, wood trim doorways and windows, large sundecks off the back, vaulted ceilings, and veranda in the front...  It's a buyers market out there, but desirable homes are still highly sought after.
