The River District area is host to three elementary and two secondary schools all with solid reputations of building and maintaining open learning environments where students are given to tools they need to excel in life.

Langara College and University of British Columbia are both within close proximity of the River District, and have become known for leading edge programs and producing some of the Canada’s brightest talent.

This well-established East Vancouver elementary school is named after Vancouver’s second mayor, David Oppenheimer, who is responsible for not only preserving the beaches and forestry we all enjoy in Stanley Park, but for starting construction on many of East Vancouver’s bridges, roads and sidewalks.
